DAF
Blue Tank & Pump Rental offers a lineup of Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) units in varying sizes from 20 GPM to 500 GPM. These units are all built with portability and ease of setup in mind and come affixed to skids that can quickly be transported and placed on site. All plumbing connections are placed at ground level allowing for easy hookup. Blue Tank & Pump Rental has developed its own chemical dosing conex that is able to autonomously dose specific amounts of polymers, coagulants, and other chemicals into the wastewater where it is able to flocculate through floc tubes and continue into the DAF. The chemical dosing is proportional to the wastewater stream’s flow rate and requires minimal interference from an operator aside from routine maintenance and quality checks.
DAFs offer a unique solution when removing solids from wastewater in that they are compact in size relative to traditional clarifier systems of identical capacities. To achieve this, DAFs incorporate air saturated water into the wastewater stream where micro air bubbles attach to and float the solids to the top of the water where they are skimmed off. This process is much faster than traditional settling methods in clarifier systems. The sludge is contained in a separate section of the tank where it can be further processed or disposed of. Typically, the sludge would be pressed to remove excess liquid and form a “cake” like material (Blue Tank & Pump Rental offers sludge press rentals as well!) Typically operating in a counter-flow orientation, the clarified water flows out of the tank in the opposite direction as where the sludge is removed.

Dewatering Boxes are an excellent and simple dewatering tool that is a cheaper way to remove solids from water. Boxes like these are always inspected upon their return to the yard to make sure the flanges and valves as well as the door seals and dewatering mesh are clean and in good order for the next job they go out to.
