Slide Rail

During excavation projects, ensuring the safety of both the site and crew is paramount. Slide Rail Systems provide a cost-effective solution for supporting trenches or pits at excavation sites. Unlike traditional sheeting methods, Slide Rail Systems consist of steel panels, similar to the sidewalls of a trench box, and vertical steel posts. The design allows the panels to slide into the posts, forming a four-sided pit system. Utilizing a “dig and push” installation method, the panels and posts are gradually pushed into the pit as excavation progresses.
This approach minimizes the risk of trench wall collapse by allowing for gradual installation. Slide rail systems keep the installation crews safe by never needing to enter an un-shored installation area unlike other systems. Moreover, Slide Rail Systems are recognized for their versatility, accommodating various arrangements to meet specific site needs. Our Slide Rail offers an open-face rail design on our posts. This unique feature provides additional space for the panels within the posts, reducing the risk of binding during installation and facilitating the removal of deeply set panels. We offer a range of high-quality slide rail solutions designed to address your shoring challenges effectively, ensuring the safety of your excavation site and personnel.

Sided Pit Configuration

Individual Slide Rail components allow for the use of lighter equipment during installation. The overall cost for renting and installing the system is about 50 percent lower than that of steel sheeting. A significant benefit of the Slide Rail system is the simultaneous completion of installation and excavation, which not only saves time but also reduces costs. Furthermore, the wall-to-wall working space provided by a four-sided Slide Rail system exceeds that of a standard trench box or other shoring options.

Clear Span

Clear Span configured Slide Rail System provides an expansive shored working area that remains unobstructed by cross members during both installation and removal. The system employs I-beams as walers, which are secured in brackets that support the structure externally at the top and internally as excavation progresses. The inside waler brackets are equipped with rollers, ensuring that the entire internal waler structure stays close to the bottom of the excavation throughout the entire process. Clear Span system is uniquely engineered in this way, making it a standout option in the industry.

Multi-Bay

The Multi-Bay configured Slide Rail System features innovative parallel beams that move up and down along the slotted rail on the inner face of the Slide Rail linear posts. These parallel beams are equipped with spreader collars, like trench shield sidewalls, which secure standard trench box spreaders.

There are two primary types of Multi-Bay Systems:

  1. 4-SIDED Multi-Bay System – This system includes corner posts and panels that enclose the ends of the Multi-Bay configuration. It is particularly well-suited for applications such as tank installations, long structures, microtunneling along with various boring operations.
  2. LINEAR Multi-Bay System – This design features open ends at the trench and does not incorporate corner posts. It excels in scenarios requiring the installation of long pipelines, even across extensive distances. The open ends facilitate the installation of pipe in the front bay while allowing back-filling in the rear bay. This method enables contractors to “leap-frog” the system forward, effectively reusing a defined set of Slide Rail components.

Shore-Trak

Our Universal Slide Rail System is designed to provide effective protection around existing utilities through the innovative combination of the Slide Rail and Shore-Trak. This system stands out as the only pre-fabricated, pre-engineered solution for cross-trench utility shielding available in the industry. There are two variations of Shore-Trak: the SHEETING GUIDE FRAMES, which are secured into the outer slotted rails of the vertical posts and rest on the ground or in shallow pilot holes, and the PANEL GUIDE, which replaces a Slide Rail panel within the inside open-face rail of the vertical posts. Both the Sheeting Guide Frames and Panel Guides are compatible with overlapping KD-6 Sheeting. Additionally, Shore-Trak Sheeting Guide Frames can be utilized independently of the Slide Rail by applying traditional trench shield spreader pipes pinned onto spreader collars.

Benefits

  • Modular pieces that are put together minimizing the need for a larger excavator
  • 4-sided and clear span options creates a open work space because of a lack of spreaders
  • Can have a much larger open excavation that is shored properly than a normal trench box
  • Can have site specific engineering done for customer specific job site
  • Dig and Push system allows low vibration installation
  • Installed from top down and removed from bottom up, minimizing size of excavator
  • Pull bracket for easy removal
  • Variety of configuration
  • Cost-effective
  • On job sites that have limited ground space slide rail removes the need for benching
