Sock Filters
Blue Tank & Pump Rental has an extensive fleet of sock filters that are ideal for a variety of industries and applications. These filters are designed to hold a disposable filter bag (sock) that is available in different micron ratings. As the contaminated liquid is pumped into the vessel and through the filter bag, solids are trapped. It is common to have several sock filter vessels in series in descending micron ratings to progressively clarify the liquid. The main advantage of these systems is the ease of maintenance. A clogged filter bag is easily identified based on pressure drop, no tools are required to open the filter vessel, remove the spent filter bag, and install a new one, all while keeping all of the plumbing connected. Some multi-vessel configurations are available that would allow for filter bag changes while maintaining filtration operations through a second vessel, all through a simple valving change.
All of these vessels come standard on a skid that allows for easy mobilization and placement on site. Multi-vessel filters come with plumbing and valving pre-installed between them that is configurable for parallel or series flow. Some typical applications include chemical plants, pumping stations, food & beverage applications, large-scale industrial or commercial use, and more. These filter vessels come in a wide variety of sizes depending on the solids collection and flow rate requirements.
